How we work

How an interior project runs, start to finish

Four stages, in the same order every time. The order matters more than it looks — most expensive mistakes in a fit-out come from doing the right things in the wrong sequence.

01

Call & site visit

It starts with a phone call or a WhatsApp message. A photo of the space and the area you are in is usually enough to tell whether it is work we should be doing. If it is, we come and measure — and look at what the space can actually take.

Useful to have ready

  • Photos of the room from each corner, and of the ceiling.
  • The builder’s floor plan, if you have one.
  • What is staying and what is going — furniture, fittings, existing wiring.
  • A rough budget, so the design is drawn to it rather than past it.
  • Any date the work has to be finished by — a move-in, a function.
02

Design & estimate

A layout drawn to the measured room, and a written estimate against that drawing. Materials and finishes are agreed at this stage — not decided on site, under pressure, halfway through. The kitchen and wardrobe pages explain what each choice means.

Before you agree to any estimate, ours or anyone’s, check it names

  • The board grade for each run — sink, hob, wardrobe carcass — not just “plywood”.
  • The shutter finish and the hardware brand.
  • Which electrical and plumbing changes are included, and which are not.
  • What happens to existing fittings that are coming out.
  • The drawing it was priced against, so both sides are talking about the same thing.
03

Build

The work goes in the order the trades depend on each other: electrical and plumbing first fix, then the false ceiling, then carpentry and installation, then finishing. Doing it in any other order means opening up finished work — the order of interior work goes through it stage by stage.

Worth agreeing before work starts, if you are living there

  • Which rooms stay usable, and for how long.
  • Working hours, especially for cutting and drilling.
  • Where materials will be stored while the work is on.
  • How dust is kept out of the rooms you are still using.
04

Handover

Everything cleaned, tested and walked through with you — including how the lighting circuits and the storage are meant to be used.

What to check at handover

  • Every door and drawer — soft-close working, shutters level and in line.
  • Every light on the switch it is supposed to be on.
  • Edges and corners — no chipped laminate, no lifting edge banding.
  • Sockets and points where the drawing said they would be.
  • How to clean each finish — some do not tolerate ordinary cleaners.
